I found this interesting little book which came along with my Reader’s Digest subscription. It’s called ‘The little book of Detox’ by Jane Scrivner. And it contains many simple to follow and surely effective methods to detoxify oneself when things aren’t going the way they should be. Even if everything’s alright, it’s a good idea to practice the helpful and useful tips given in this book. I’ll share some of them here :-
Water, water, water – Drink 3 pints or 1.5 litres of filtered or bottled water every day. It re-hydrates, revitalises, cleans your skin, flushes you out & invigorates.
Junk the caffeine – Reduce tea and coffee to one cup per day for a whole month and then cut off caffeine altogether. See how your skin tone changes, your sleep gets deeper and you feel more relaxed.
Take a cold shower – Turn the shower to cold for 30 seconds every morning (Brr. I could never do that, especially in the winter). A cold shower leaves you feeling warm, invigorated and awake.
Change a negative to a positive – If something bad happens think of 4 steps to turn it into something good. Decontaminate your mind. Negative to positive – so easy when you know how.
Well, I definitely can’t copy the whole book here. But this is just an example of the helpful tips it provides. It is a really useful read and I’m sure it will help me greatly in the days to come.
