The chemist's store

Have you ever noticed the atmosphere and the general mood of people at a chemist's store, especially at one which is near a hospital? I've seen that people normally do not talk much as they would in any other store, even with the shop owner. Most of them have a prescription written by the doctor in their hand. No layman could ever decipher the coded prescription written by the doctor, and so they quietly hand it over to the chemist. The look on their face is one of concern as their eyes follow the chemist while he is searching for the medicine. Some of them look away, staring into nothingness.

The reason for all this - one of their friends or family is lying in a bed back at the hospital. Part of their mind is in that room waiting to comfort the patient. Part of them is worried thinking of what ifs and buts.

As soon as the chemist gives the medicine, the customer goes through the medicine doubly checking whether the medicine is the right one. However, still not able to read what the doctor has written, they accept the better judgement of the chemist, and quietly pay for the medicine. Then they quickly make their way towards the hospital to be back with their loved ones.

The aura at a chemist's store does feel like a mini heartbeat.
